WHAT IS FRACTAL: BEYOND THE VOID
Fractal Universe
For centuries, the blackness of space and the perpetual light of the stars represented a completely indecipherable mystery to our emerging civilization. After living through times of conflict, decadence, and revolution, we finally learned how to travel across the galaxy, and set out to find a new place that we can call home.
But the darkness of the void harbours many secrets. On our pilgrimage we will find abstract enigmas, spectacular life-forms, unique minerals, dreamlike planets, challenges and events that escape our understanding — and of course, rivals.
It is time to write a new story. This is the epic odyssey of our future, a future where there are only two paths: survival or extinction.

Game Objective
Fractal: Beyond The Void is a science-fiction game of exploration, conquest and supremacy. Each player takes command of an emerging galactic empire that will explore the galaxy, uncover secrets, compete to dominate habitable planets, and fight over resources, prestige and power.
Fractal: Beyond The Void contains several distinctive elements which add variety and challenge to every game. Foremost among these is the Aftermath system, a unique way to chart the evolving story of the galaxy across multiple plays. During your first game, you will earn victory points by achieving strategic objectives, destroying enemy colonies, and colonising the utopian sector at the heart of the galaxy. The first player to score six victory points will win the game. But the way your game unfolds, and the nature of the victory achieved by the winner, will dramatically change your future games and unlock hidden content.
To make this possible, the game includes a separate Aftermath Book. At the end of each play, you will consult the Aftermath Book to discover how your decisions have modified the game and shaped the future of the galaxy. For instance, the Aftermath Book can unlock new factions, reveal new technologies and mysteries, or even temporarily rewrite the game’s victory conditions. In this way, you will gradually write a single narrative over many games — the evolving story of your galaxy.
Eventually, you will have unlocked the complete expanded game, and you will then be free to play with any combination of game components and scenarios you choose.
Game Structure and Mechanics
The game consists of 6 cycles organized in 3 ages (being composed of two cycles). Each Ages has a different pool of technologies, objectives, and mysteries. At the beginning of each cycle the players
* Choose policies (Politics Phase, players with higher influence have more control over this phase).
*Earn resources (Income Phase, the player with more production zones active will produce more resources)
* Execute actions (Action Phase).
During the Action Phase players will perform:
Basic Actions (March, Colonize, Investigate, Recruit) Financing requests (Actions performed without spending credits but blocking the basic action) Action Cards (2 per player for each cycle, these cards change the game drastically, and players need to choose each card carefully, after plays the second card on the current cycle they pass intermediately preventing them from taking more actions during the current cycle)
Through the cycle players generate victory points by Completing objectives (Different objectives en each Age), Destroy colonies (Military Victory Points), or Control Utopian Sector (Dreamlike planet in the center of the galaxy, control this sector that gives resources and victory points.
This set of mechanics combines with the Game States, Hidden content, and more than 10 playable factions make each session of Fractal: BTV unique and memorable.
